Saturday Night Favourites

I went for a night out this week, so I thought I would share my favourites for staying and going out in Glasgow.

Gordon Street Coffee

First thing I always do when I get to Glasgow is grab a coffee.

Gordon Street Coffee is right beside Central Station, and it’s one of my favourite coffee roasters right now.

Their vegan cakes from Sweet Nothings are also amazing, so I got a Banana and Maple mini loaf as well.

McLay’s Guest House

I booked into McLay’s Guest House for the night, which I highly recommend if you’re planning to stay in Glasgow too.

It’s a beautiful, clean, friendly hotel, and the beds are so comfy!

Lush Bath Bomb and Bubble Bar

We requested a room with a bath, so I could go to Lush and have a soak before going out.

I mixed the Blackberry Bath Bomb with The Comforter Bubble bar.

Both were super relaxing and smelled incredible.

Wagamama

For dinner, we went to Wagamama to try the vegan menu.

It was so delicious.

I recommend the Vegan Katsu Curry and the Vegetable Gyoza.

Thigh High Boots

Confession: the whole reason I wanted to go on a night out was so I could wear these shoes.

But can you blame me?

I got them in the sale at H&M, and they were surprisingly comfortable to walk in.

MAC lipstick in Diva

I thought I would try my MAC testers I got.

I used the colour Diva, and I was slightly annoyed by how much I liked it, since MAC isn’t cruelty-free.

However, I am planning on trying to find a dupe for it so I can continue to enjoy the colour.

Bambu Spiced Rum

While out at the Howling Wolf– who do great vegan pizza, by the way- I discovered a new rum called Bambu Spiced.

It’s got a lovely flavour and goes great with my usual mixers; apple juice or ginger beer.

Spiderman: Far From Home

To finish the trip, we went to see Spiderman: Far From Home before catching our train home the next day.

9/10.

Go see!

Friday Favourites

1. Boots Expert Skincare Night Cream

I bought this cream after getting sunburnt at Download and needed a cheap moisturiser I could quickly grab and apply at the nearest Boots.

I didn’t give much thought to buying it, nor did I expect it to be any good, but I was highly surprised by how much I enjoyed using this cream.

It not only helped soothe my sunburnt nose, but deeply moisturised my skin and now I used it every day, and my skin hasn’t felt nearly as dry or dehydrated since.

2. Aldi Moser Roth Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt

I don’t have a picture of this one, because I only intended on having one piece (I don’t usually eat a lot of dark chocolate), but I ended up eating the whole bar before I realised I’d finished it.

It’s not bitter like most dark chocolate, it’s just delicious!

I think I will be buying this again and again.

3. Shirley Curry

A new YouTube channel I discovered this week is that of Shirley Curry (aka Grandma Shirley.) She’s an 83-year old Grandmother who makes Skyrim gaming videos and a few others.

She has a beautiful, energetic personality and, even though I don’t play Skyrim, I really enjoy watching and listening to her!

4. NYX soft matte lip creme in Rome

This is the lipstick I used in my ‘Trying Instaglam Makeup’ post, and since then I’ve been wondering: Why haven’t I used this more often?

I just love the colour.

5. Sriracha Mayo

All I can say is this stuff tastes amazing!

Creamy, spicy, and completely vegan.

I love it with chips instead of ketchup or with pringles as a dip.

Sir David

I mentioned this little guy in my Homeware Favourites post.

He’s just so cute! (I named him Sir David)

He looks great sitting on my kitchen side, bringing a bit of life and colour to it.

Handbrake

I was editing a video for someone this week and they’d filmed on two separate ipads- and in two separate framerates…

(Being an editor will drive you crazy)

But this application called Handbrake was free and converted the footage into a constant framerate.

Which saved me a lot of frustration and heartbreak.

Lush Lipstick

This is the lipstick I used in my Emma Stone makeup look.

I forgot how pretty the colour was- having not used it in ages!

However, I would recommend using it with a lip pencil to stop it bleeding and wearing off so quickly.

XL Biscoff

The only thing better than Biscoff… Is bigger Biscoff.

Yes, it’s a picture of an empty packet… just because they’re bigger doesn’t mean they’ll last longer!

Download Playlist

I’m heading to Download Festival this year- and I’m so excited!!

We made a playlist of all the acts we’re planning on seeing and I’m listening to it non-stop!

Friday Favourites

This week, my favourites focus more on mindfulness and self-care.

1. Too Faced ‘Sweethearts’ Blush

Using this blush again after a while, I fell in love with the colour once more.

This one is in Sparkling Bellini

It’s a beautiful peachy shimmer- perfect for Spring and Summer!

2. Bliss app

One of my recent resolutions was to try and be more positive.

It can be so easy to focus on the negative or the things I’m not happy with in life.

Therefore, this app lets me log one thing I’m grateful for everyday so I can shift my focus and hopefully start having a more positive outlook on life!

3. Eucerin

My skin this week decided to break out worse than normal.

But this Dermo Purifyer Toner was amazing at soothing and clearing my skin.

I originally got this to help with my cystic acne I get on my back- and it really helps to reduce redness and inflammation.

Now I will definatley keep it as a back up for when my face needs a little more tlc.

4. Cross-stitch

I’m fairly new to cross-stitching but when I sit down and focus on counting the stitching and creative a new picture, I’ve found it really focusses my mind and can calm my anxiety.

Plus, it is also an outlet for my creativity when I have writers block so I don’t go crazy!

5. Walking in the Rain

There’s something so soothing about going out in the rain and hearing it tap against the trees and just taking some time to get a bit of fresh air, exercise and time to organise your thoughts.

If ever I’m feeling overwhelmed or anxious, sometimes a walk and letting my mind wander is all I need.

Friday Favourites

1. Coloured Eyeliner

Ever since my Makeup Monday look this week, I’ve been doing different coloured eyeliner every day.

Next week I might try being a bit bolder, but for now I am loving this trend.

2. Supernatural

I’ve always been a huuuge Supernatural fan. Right now I’m watching season 13 and still enjoying it- though I’ll always have a biased opinion.

Let me know if you watch it and what you think of the newer seasons. How do you think the show will end?

3. Cheesecake

I made a vanilla biscoff cheesecake with a salted caramel topping.

And remembered how much I love cheesecake.

So. Much.

You too will be willing to sell your soul for it when I post the recipe.

4. Jumpsuit

I got his jumpsuit from Primark (thanks Mum!) and it’s so comfy.

Jumpsuits are great for the simple reason that it’s a completed outfit ready to go. No effort needed.

I adore the pattern on this one is; so cute and stylish.

5. Camping

I never thought I would put this on a favourites list but last weekend I went camping at Culzean Castle with my parents and the dog.

It was a sunny weekend of shopping, BBQs, puppy cuddles and catching up.

Perfect.
